‘Tis the Season for Sweater Weather: Cute Sweaters for Under $40
Who doesn’t love some sweater weather? Even in southern california we get a little taste of this before 9am and after 7pm. As a true east-coaster, I anxiously wait for these times of day and dread the frequent temperature spikes on the weather forecast.
A quick side note for our tribe: We are all about mutually beneficial relationships here at the Newlymoms. So naturally, this article may contain affiliate links. This means that if you were to use the links provided and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission (at no additional cost to you). What I don’t love about sweater weather is shopping – mostly because of the ridiculous LA traffic that never ceases on this coast. And if you were with us back when we posted our tried and true, “Mastering the New Mom One-Piece,” you know my criteria (which is very much worth repeating) below:
THE CRITERIA, MY LOVELIES, ARE THE 4 C’S:
CUTENESS – aka newlymom chic
COVERAGE/COMFORT – ain’t nobody want a cute sweater to freeze or itch in – I’m buying you, you best keep me warm & cozy
CONVENIENCE – in other words – can be ordered off AMAZON
COST – under $40 (I upped it from $30 bathing suit threshold – warranted? Yes, I’d wear sweaters every day if I could – bathing suits? Not so much)
So naturally, I scrounged my favorite site for sweaters that meet the newlymoms 4 C’s. What I found interesting is that the first “sweaters” that come up in search either have a TON of mediocre ratings (ain’t nobody got time fo dose), or a FEW high ratings. No thank you on either option – so, like I said, I scrounged for the good stuff. And, as you know – if there’s no pics of REAL people in the reviews, this mama’s not interested.
So here’s what I found:
There are a couple different options – but I LOVE the black cable-knit and reviewers are raving about the yellow color – super unique.
I can’t decide if the green or burgundy is my fave.
The Green, Red or White would be FANTASTIC for a holiday party – but for everyday wear I’d personally go with the Armygreen (my all-time go-to) or Beige.
This is more heavy t-shirt fabric, so plan to wear a coat overtop or an extra layer below – but it’s SUPA CUTE nonetheless.
Anything with pockets is a go for me! And reviewers are raving about how great this one fits and the crazy high coziness factor rating.
Another great option for a tunic top! Transitions well from office to home and cold to colder, as its easy to add extra layers on top of!
This is a great option for cold weather – but it does run big, so order one size down than you normally would.
Loving the grey …
The ivory looks awesome in the reviewers photos but I’d obviously go with the Olive Green
Now, this isn’t quite a sweater but it’s freaking adorable and totally unique. The reviews say it’s super warm and cozy too – so it makes the list. Mostly because of the thumb holes …
I could def wear this all day erryday. It’s not quite a sweater either – but you can never have enough tops like dese onesss.
Now don’t go wearing this out in the middle of a snowstorm – but it’s too cute not to have on this list. Check it out!
Okay – now these 2 are on my watch list as more customer reviews come in – I won’t take the leap with the limited amount of info available, but just letting you know they’re on my radar:
AMAURAS Cable Knit Open Front Sweater Cardigan
Mafulus Oversized Batwing Sweater
Any great options you’ve tried for sweater weather that should be added to the list? Comment below!
Happy Shopping!
