Do you believe that God can do anything? We do. And here’s just a few reasons why:
For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.
Luke 1:37 (AMPC)
“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.”
Ephesians 3:20 (TPT)
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:26 (ESV)
I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who [a]infuses inner strength into me; I am [b]self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].
Philippians 4:13 (AMPC)
Now the real question is – do you live like God can do anything? The reality, and sad truth is that most of us, well … don’t.
Goals, Goals, Goals
With the new year just passing, everyone is thinking about GOALS (or if you’re like me, you think about them every day). It happens every year and every year there’s a new strategy for setting attainable, achievable goals. There’s SMART goal setting and Getting Things Done (GTD) method, amongst many others. All of which have well-documented benefits to help even the laziest and unmotivated individual get things done. But this is mainly done because most people get overwhelmed when goals are too lofty and there’s no action plan for achieving them.
But – if you ask me – setting goals according to what we feel comfortable with and think we can achieve is bogus. As believers, we’re not supposed to live like the world lives. We’re not supposed to believe like the world believes. If God can do anything and is desiring to move in your life in BIG ways, why are you limiting your goals to what’s achievable and comfortable?
I believe a big part of the fruit that is demonstrated in our lives is based on what WE BELIEVE GOD CAN DO. And the belief that He wants to partner with us in doing the impossible things.
So what if we set goals this year like God can do anything and He wants to partner with us? Instead of what we think WE can accomplish or achieve in a given day, year, etc., let’s set goals like we’re partnering with the God of the universe who wants to achieve the impossible through you.

Setting God-Sized Goals
Step #1 – Evaluate the areas you want to see growth.
Here are some basic areas you can start to evaluate – and the only question is this: Where do you want to see God move? If one of these areas comes up – write it down. DO NOT let your mind go down a rabbit hole of why it’s impossible, why it won’t work or why God doesn’t want to move. Those are lies from the pit of hell. Jesus is willing. Jesus is able. And Jesus wants you free from the limitations the world sets on you.

Note: A good place to start would be any areas where you’ve accepted something less than God’s best as reality. For example, my dog (aka baby #1) has struggled with minor anxiety symptoms throughout the years and has difficulty interacting with other dogs. I’ve kind of accepted this as “how she is” and the Lord says NO – I can do anything and anxiety isn’t part of my kingdom.
Step #2 – Get Holy Spirit’s vision for each of these areas.
Now, this is the fun part. Sit with the Lord and ask Him for a vision in each of these areas. Don’t let any voices tell you what’s impossible or try to limit your vision to what makes sense. God will never contradict his word and his word says nothing is impossible and that he will achieve infinitely more than your wildest dream. So have fun with this and let your mind and heart explore possibilities you never considered before. This is called HOPE. And HOPE will increase according to what you’re willing to believe is possible.
Step #3 – Meditate on the vision and seek God for actionable daily goals.
Let the vision sink into your spirit and ask to see it like you see your hand in front of you: clear, obvious and accepted as reality. Then, ask the Lord for actionable daily goals. Now, these goals are not supposed to be you breaking the massive vision down into tasks…that would be overwhelming. But rather, this is asking the Lord for what you can do today, tomorrow and maybe a couple of weeks out. His word says that He is a “lamp to our feet” and that means we can see a few steps ahead, not the whole path. You see the point – just like everything else in this crazy, faith walk – is relationship. If you got a whole year of tasks and never had to seek him again for what to do, that would defeat HIS PURPOSE, which is relationship with you.
So don’t expect to see the whole picture, and be thankful for each and every piece of direction you hear from him. He loves you more than you could ever imagine and would never withhold what you need from you. He already has given everything for you.
Let us know how it’s going!
Right there with ya!
