Pain-free natural childbirth is totally possible. That is, if you’re willing to ignore the voices of past experience, limited thinking and stagnant mindsets. And I’m not talking about mitigated pain via waterbirth or self-hypnosis; I’m talking totally PAIN-FREE, NATURAL CHILDBIRTH. So how do you get there? Well, you have to be willing to hear what God – the inventor of childbirth and the creator of all children – says about it. You have to be open to the idea that what you’ve always heard around giving birth or even previously experienced in birth isn’t the end all be all. You have be open to admitting there’s a different way – a greater way for childbirth. So what do you say? Are you willing?

A Brief Backstory

A little while ago, we posted my personal experience with Supernatural Childbirth. We also recommended the book Supernatural Childbirth by Jackie Mize. These 2 resources are a great place to start to expand your thinking. I take you through my experience of a glorious pregnancy with absolutely no complications through birth in under 30 minutes nearly pain-free to a beautifully perfect baby boy. And Supernatural Childbirth takes you through Jackie’s amazing testimony of:

1. Giving birth to four children after being told she couldn’t conceive by every doctor she saw and,
2. Giving birth naturally to all 4, and totally totally pain-free with no tearing, complications or after-birth pains with the latter 3 of those 4.

And the thing about testimonies is that – if you read it, it’s yours to grab onto for yourself. God is no respecter of persons and shows no partiality so what he does for someone else, he wants to do for you too (Acts 10:34). The only question is – do you want it?

The First Step

When it comes to believing for something, the first step is always to understand WHY. In other words, if you’re standing on God’s word, you need to know what it says and understand why it applies to you. (I think you’ll find out it’s actually a lot more concrete than you think it is).

I know, I know. You probably clicked on this post to read about some new quick fix for labor pains and/or the hidden gem of birthing strategies. But this is so much more than that. It’s a foundation for the birth of your child; It’s a renewed mindset and most importantly, a relationship with your creator that will take you far beyond your stay in the L&D.

So take a look at this path through scripture to build your faith for your pain-free natural childbirth.

#1: The Curse

To the woman He said:

“I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception;
In pain you shall bring forth children;
Your desire shall be for your husband,
And he shall rule over you.” – Genesis 3:16 (NKJV)

So, when Eve ate the apple in the garden of Eden – everything evil was welcomed in through her act of disobedience. As part of this was the curse of pain in childbearing, it stands to reason that it was not so painful beforehand. Getting back to that glory of pain-LESS childbirth then became the problem (among others) …

#2: The Cure

“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’) that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

– Galatians 3:13-14 (NKJV)

“For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

– Galatians 3:26-29 (NKJV)

So, Jesus became the solution of getting back to the original intent of God’s creation – freedom from evil, sin & death and perfect relationship with God, our Father. In this case, it means freedom from pain in childbearing – which was under the curse of the law. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from or what you’ve done – you are forgiven, saved, healed and set free from the curse of the law through faith in Jesus Christ.

#3: We Can Have What We Say

“So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

– Mark 11:22-24 (NKJV)

So, for all who have faith in Jesus and speak according to the Will of God – we have been given the promise that we’ll receive what we believe for, confess out loud and/or pray for. And regarding pain-free childbirth – we know that we are speaking according to God’s Will because of the truth shown by steps #1 & #2. So start speaking, mama!

#4:The Prayer of Agreement

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

– Matthew 18:19-20 (NKJV)

Take your declarations up a notch and bring your spouse and trusted friends into agreement with you. Make sure it’s people who are going to believe for this reality with you. Not everyone is ready to receive and agree with truths that fly in the face of most people’s experiences.

BONUS: The Blessings of Abraham

Take a look at the blessings (& curses) of Abraham in Deuteronomy 28. Now that we are considered the seed of Abraham and Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law (see step #2), we can rightfully claim all the blessings and subsequently reject all the curses listed here in this chapter.
