If you’re anything like me, you LOVE to save money! BUT sometimes you also like to shop…sigh. What to do? Well, in our last post, 6 Non-Maternity Items You Can Still Wear While Pregnant, I shared several items in your pre-pregnancy closet that you can sport while preggo! Definitely a money saver! So in this post I want to show you how you can go your entire pregnancy with only 7 maternity clothing items! The posts go hand in hand. These are just a few things you can add to your shopping list that won’t break your bank and will be a great addition to your wardrobe. 1. Belly Band or Maeband
The Belly Band or Maeband is a great way to save money! Why buy several pairs of jeans you won’t be wearing after 9 months when you can wear your own? Just attach the Maeband to your belt loops or pull the belly band over the unbuttoned jeans and voila!
2. One Pair of Maternity Jeans
1 pair maternity jeans goes a long way and since you’ll have that belly band or maeband, you might not even need these at all, but when you get further along they might just fit a little better. Let’s be real, you’re most likely going to be wearing leggings anyway. Check out this pair of maternity jeans from Target!
3. One pair maternity shorts
Again you’ll have that belly band or maeband and might not need maternity shorts, however you also might want something a little more comfy than your average who-wears-short-shorts pair. I felt this pair from Target were the comfiest!
4. Maternity tanks
You can wear your regular tanks for the first few months, but unless they’re super stretchy, you’ll probably want to get a few of these maternity ones. The best part about tank tops is you can wear them in the summer with or without a kimono AND in the winter with a super cute cardigan! That will save you tons of money because you can wear those kimonos and cardigans after your pregnancy too!
5. Maternity shirts
These maternity shirts are great because you can dress them up or down, wear them with jeans, slacks, or a skirt!
6. Maternity Dress Pants or Khakis
Now, I’m not sure what your work situation is like, you might be able to get away with leggings or skirts, but some people have to wear the typical dress pants or khakis. If you have that belly band or maeband, you can certainly get away without buying maternity dress pants or khakis, but these might be a tad more comfy towards the later months.
7. Maternity Dress
