#1: On Becoming Babywise

This book is a full on life management solution for your newborn into toddler-hood. Because let’s face it, we are all yearning for that sole source solution to managing life when you’re responsible for a little one. No one knows how to transition from independent person or married couple to parent(s) seamlessly. And the most difficult aspect of this transition is, more often than not, sleeping & eating. Enter: Babywise.

On Becoming Babywise

My life is chock-full of supermoms who average 3-4 kids, and this book worked for nearly all of them – myself included. Our babies were sleeping through the night – in their own cribs – by 8 weeks old. And where there were hiccups – this book had answers. It becomes your pocket parenting handbook – always there to reference when questions arise. This book makes life with a newborn seem manageable again. You can do this mama.

SIDE NOTE: We created a helpful printable schedule that goes along with this book. Because who wouldn’t want their babies to sleep through the night, in their own cribs, by 8 weeks?? CLICK HERE to subscribe for your FREE Babywise Printable Schedule

#2: The Supernatural Ways of Royalty

Yes, I’ll admit that this is a pretty unconventional book to make this list. But that’s how we roll here at the newlymoms. Here is my airtight reasoning:

Understanding YOUR identity in this universe is essential for raising a child who understands THEIR identity. While this book is not directly about raising a child, it has shaped my view and principles in doing so more than any other book I’ve read.

Supernatural Ways of Royalty

“We are not just soldiers of the cross; we are heirs to the throne. His divine nature permeates our souls, transforms our minds, transplants our hearts and transfigures our spirits. We were made to be vessels of His glory and vehicles of His light.”

#3: Culture of Honor

When you realize that the culture of your home is your responsibility, it adds a little weight to your role as a parent. In this book, you learn how each decision and every response you make adds to the culture of your environment, for better or worse – at home, in church, your workplace, everywhere. If I were you, I’d learn the fundamentals of creating and sustaining a culture of honor before your little one makes his way into the world.

Warning: this book opens the floodgates to the follow-up material by Danny Silk. All of which are EXTREMELY valuable and very much worth your time.

BONUS MATERIAL: As a mama, you need to understand, believe and live out the truth that you are enough. You are enough regardless of what you accomplish, or the sum total of all your successes and failures. YOU – ARE – ENOUGH. Do you believe this? Do you live this? Or are you constantly striving for that one additional achievement to prove your worth?

Regardless of where you are on this spectrum, rehearsing and ingraining the truth that you are enough is vital to living out a presently fulfilling and eternally meaningful motherhood. Take a look at our Enough Journal & Planner and start making this truth a priority in your life today.
